Founding Story

Starting in 2006-2008, John recognized the potential for excess biomass in Central Texas (e.g. Juniper and Mesquite) to produce Syngas for power.  This idea was later updated to use the excess biomass to produce Hydrogen for mobility and CO2 for sequestration.  John founded HyCO Tech Solutions in 2023 to explore the technology, market, and business opportunity. Along with two interns, the team participated in two NSF i-Corps programs, identifying and interviewing customers, and updating the business model. These interviews led the team to identify Methane Pyrolysis as the optimal solution for producing low-carbon hydrogen and high-quality carbon products.

The team is focused on developing relationships with the global methane pyrolysis technology providers, understanding their technologies, products, and business models. The team is also working to develop customers for the hydrogen and carbon products.

HyCO Tech Solutions has started gaining traction in the market, acquiring advisors and potential investors, signing NDAs and MOUs.

Our Misson

We believe hydrogen will play a vital role in a net zero energy system. When pure hydrogen is used as fuel, it combines with oxygen to produce water, emitting no CO2. If we can decarbonize its production, it becomes a great energy choice for industries that are hard to abate.
